Gwen Moore's Active Liberty

After protesting for an increase in the minimum wage, and subsequent arrest, Wisconsin Congresswoman Gwen Moore still had a chance to speak with MSNBC host Chris Hayes regarding the inequity of $7.25/hour. After Hayes questioned Moore about her decision to join the protest, she said "I put on my Sunday best suit and debated these issues about the need for people to have a decent wage for years and years and years".  And all I keep hearing from the other side is "people need to take more responsibility" for their lives. The workers protesting, according to Moore  are working 2-3 jobs and yet, still live $4,000 below the annual poverty level, and "many of them are women".

In other words, the legislative process in Wisconsin has not worked on the topic of raising the minimum wage, and therefore citizens must resort to protest and organized civil disobedience to get their voices heard.
  Bravo G. Moore.
